We do not sell your information, and we never give your name, phone number or email to advertisers. This site does use one advertising cookie to measure our own ads, and you can switch it off — how is below.
What we collect
What you tell us: your name, how to reach you, and what you want built. We also keep basic usage data about how the site is used.
How we use it
To reply to you, walk your property, prepare a proposal, and keep normal project records if you become a client. Nothing else.
What we don’t do
We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We share only what someone working on your project needs — a structural engineer, a permit expediter, a supplier — and the service providers that run this site, none of whom may use it for their own purposes.
Measuring our own ads
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we need to know which of those ads actually lead to work rather than just to clicks. To do that this site loads a measurement tool from Meta that sets one cookie, _fbp, and tells Meta when someone reaches our estimate form and when they finish it. It records the fact that it happened — not your name, your phone number or your email, which we never pass to any advertiser. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, or you have told this site “essential only”, the tool is not loaded at all and nothing is sent. You can also block it with any normal browser or extension setting, and the site works exactly the same either way.
The assistant on this site
The question box on these pages is answered partly from text we wrote ourselves and partly by an AI service, Groq, which processes your question on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes. Your question is sent to them as you typed it. We keep a record of questions asked so the answers can be improved — with phone numbers, email addresses and street addresses stripped out before anything is stored. Please do not type anything into it you would not put on a postcard; to book a walk or give us your details, use the contact form, which is what it is for.
Mobile numbers and text messages
If you give us a mobile number we use it to answer you — by phone or by text — about your own enquiry, and for nothing else. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent is not shared with any third parties, and that holds even for the project collaborators named above. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help; stopping texts does not stop us answering you by phone or email.
Your choices
You can switch the usage data off by turning on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser — we detect either one and honour it automatically, with nothing for you to click. You can also just ask us, and we will switch it off for you. Ask us what we hold, to correct it, or to delete it, and we will. California residents have additional rights under state law.
